Use this promotion packet checklist before you ask for the next level.

A packet works when your manager can carry your case upward without rewriting it. Use this page to make sure the proof, examples, and ask are all in place before the conversation.

Use this checklist when: you have done the work, the promotion conversation is real, and you need one place to check whether the packet is actually ready.

The checklist

    Choose three to five wins that changed something.
    Do not lead with everything you touched. Pick the work that changed speed, quality, revenue, risk, handoffs, or team clarity.

    Add proof under each win.
    For each win, include what changed, who felt it, and one number, before-and-after detail, or clear signal.

    Translate effort into scope.
    Replace "worked hard" language with signs of ownership, judgment, cross-team influence, or process improvement.

    Show the level you are already operating at.
    Name the responsibilities or decisions that already match the level you want, not only the tasks you completed.

    Write the ask in one clean line.
    Your manager should not have to guess whether you want promotion readiness feedback, a title change, or a compensation conversation.

    Cut anything that reads like a task log.
    If a bullet could fit anyone on the team, it is too generic. Keep the lines that show your specific leverage.

    Check the packet against timing.
